Cone Beam CT Imaging in

Cone Beam CT Imaging

CBCT has changed the way endodontists diagnose, treat, and predict the outcome of root canal treatment. The scan allows us to see small changes in the bone that may indicate tooth fracture, inflammation, or infection. CBCT also identifies vital structures around the tooth that may be affected by infection or an area to avoid if endodontic microsurgery is planned.

Intra-Oral Camera in

Dental Operating Microscope

A high-quality operating microscope is essential in modern endodontics and is used in every case at Main Street Endodontics. Teeth #3 and #14 often have an extra canal that is difficult to find and treat without magnification. Canal anatomy can be complex and an endodontist can only treat canals that she can see. Our Carl Zeiss microscopes have 25 times the magnification of the strongest dental loupes.

Laser Dentistry in

Laser-Assisted Endodontic Irrigation

Our practice uses the latest laser irrigation technology to activate irrigants within the canal. Research confirms that the laser disrupts bacterial biofilms more effectively than any other technology on the market. Because the amount of bacteria within the canal (the bacterial load) can be significant in some teeth, laser activation can significantly contribute to a successful outcome. The laser can also open up microscopic anatomical variations in the terminal third of the root, allowing irrigants to penetrate and clean previously inaccessible spaces.
